This incredible land of water houses over 300 species of birds, countless species of fish and 1,150 plant species. In the Danube Delta there is the largest pelican colony in Europe.

Delta Marina complex makes bicycle tourists available! You can choose to ride the Danube to the Black Sea - 2,80 km, a distance of approx. 12 minutes. Another excursion, quite demanding, for those without experience, is up to Sulina and it is done on the dike that connects the two localities - 34 km covered in 2 hours and 30 minutes. Another option is to pedal to the beach in Sfantu Gheorghe - 2,86 km covered in approx. 11 minutes.

The Tătaru Canal is the most accessible place in Sfântu Gheorghe, where everyone enjoys fishing. It is not far from the village, about 20 minutes walk. Full fishing in this channel, pike, perch, shawl, caraway, rabbit, carp, each to their liking. Everyone leaves thanks there. ... or so it seems. Boating is also interesting on this channel and is not overwhelmed by motorboats.

Various excursion plans were designed to satisfy the discovery of the wonderful places in the Reserve, especially Melea, Red Lake, Sacalin Island, Letea Forest, walks by sea or Sulina city and beach, a escape to the "modern civilization" in this area. These trips can be made with a pleasure boat, a pilot / mandatory guide or boats suitable for some small water trips.

Sfântu Gheorghe attracts with one of the most beautiful wild beaches in Romania. With a 14-kilometer stretch, the beach shelters the cattle of the villagers and the population of several dozen horses, which together with the Letea forest are the last of their species in Europe.

​The Delta that surrounds Sfantu Gheorghe is the largest marshland of Europe, unique in its vast expanse of reed, along with shallow, rushing, water ferns and a large population of water lilies. The locals even offer boat tours, called 'lullaby'. Due to the rich vegetation, there is also a significant population of wild ducks in the Sfântu Gheorghe area.
